IRWIN TOYS TO RE-LAUNCH THUNDERBIRDS LINE
By Adnews Staff
Toronto's Irwin Toys will re-launches the Thunderbirds line of action figures, vehicles and playsets this fall. The line is based on the action-adventure marionette-style television series that debuted in 1965. Set in 2065, the series follows the Tracy Brothers of International Rescue, who battle to save the Earth. Thirty-two re-mastered episodes and two movies, Thunderbirds in Outer Space and Thunderbirds To The Rescue, will air in Canada and the U.S. this fall. The series returned to U.K. television last year, also accompanied by a line of toys. Irwin was named the North American toy licensee for Thunderbirds by The Sharpe Company of Incline Village, NV, on behalf of the worldwide licensor Carlton International Media of London. The new product line-up will include a Tracy Island playset, talking action figures and a vehicle collection.
