ALLIANCE ATLANTIS SERVES IMAGE CAMPAIGN FOR FOOD NETWORK CANADA

Alliance Atlantis Communications breaks a new image campaign for its Food Network Canada specialty station this week. Three 30-second promotional spots profile Christine Cushing, Bob Blumer and Michael Smith. Cushing's series, Christine Cushing Live, and Blumer's show, The Surreal Gourmet, will debut this fall. Smith's Chef At Large series will begin in January 2002. The ads were created in-house by Alliance Atlantis. Cushing's spot features a cast of male dancing chefs. Blumer's spot shows him poaching salmon in a dishwasher. Smith's spot has him facing off against a young basketball player. Each promo ends with the tag "The Chefs of Food Network Canada." The three hosts also appear in outdoor and print ads, along with returning personalities Emeril Lagasse of Emeril Live and Jamie Oliver of The Naked Chef. Print and outdoor advertising, created by Toronto's Harrod & Mirlin/FCB, will run in major markets across Canada.
