CFL RETURNS TO AMERICAN AIRWAVES

The Canadian Football League signed a new broadcasting deal with the USFR Media Group of Houston, TX which will return of the CFL to U.S. television. USFR will broadcast CFL games in the United States on the American One Television Network. The first games aired yesterday. According to American One, the network will carry 10 live weekly broadcasts on Saturday afternoons. Taped replays will air on Sunday nights. The CFL playoffs and the Grey Cup game will also be covered. The CFL has not had a presence on U.S. airwaves since the end of its 1997 season when broadcasting on ESPN came to an end. USFR is a media holding company. In addition to the America One network, it owns Cowboys & Indians magazine and Western & English Today magazine.
