COCA-COLA LANDS ON PLANET JAVA

Toronto-based Coca-Cola Ltd.'s has released two new ready-to-drink coffee beverages in Canada called Planet Java. The product is a result of Coca-Cola's acquisition of the PJ Bean Co., Inc. in January 2000. This is Coca-Cola's first expansion into the coffee beverage category. Planet Java drinks are blends of milk and coffee available in two varieties: Javadelik, a coffee flavour, and Caramocha, a chocolate and caramel flavour. Distribution to Canadian grocery and convenience stores began this week. The introduction of the brand to Canada is being supported with in-store materials to be followed by a sampling program this fall, both from Mosaic Marketing & Promotions, and with public relations from Apex Public Relations, both of Toronto.
