By Adnews Staff
The British Tourist Authority wants Canadians, Americans, Germans, French, Irish, Dutch and Belgians to submit ideas for a video promoting Britain as part of an international competition beginning today. Entrants can visit <http://www.visitbritain.com/holidayvideo/competition.htm> to tell the BTA in a 100 words or less their plans for a vacation in Britain this year. The deadline is August 30. Two people from each participating country will be invited to Britain to shoot their video in September. "We want to show the world that Britain remains a safe destination and that a visit to Britain this year will be enjoyable as ever," said Lynn Ferguson, director of the British Tourist Authority, Canada in Mississauga. "We have launched this competition to give people the opportunity to see for themselves that Britain's countryside and rich heritage remain as unspoiled, attractive and enjoyable as ever." Promotional support for the competition will include media relations and advertising to be placed in a yet to be determined newspaper. GCI Group, which handles global public relations for the British Tourist Authority, will also promote the competition at film schools across Canada.
