U.S. AD SPENDING TO GO UP

U.S. ad spending in 1995 will increase 7.9% to $161.9 billion(US) over last year's total, New York-based McCann-Erickson vice-president told the Wall Street Journal. Coen originally predicted an increase of 6.8% in December. He also believes U.S. national media spending total will rise 8.4% to $94.6 billion this year. He expects cable television , television syndication and spot and network radio to be among the big winners of media spending. According to Coen's forecast, the four major networks can expect a jump of 5% for a total of $11.5 billion in ad revenue.
