SURVEY: AD EXECS STAY IN TOUCH WHILE ON HOLIDAYS

According to a survey by The Creative Group, advertising and marketing executives tend to pack cell phones and laptops when they go on vacation. The survey, conducted by an independent research firm, interviewed 125 advertising executives and 125 senior marketing executives. Asked "How often do you check in with the office while on vacation?", 11% said several times daily, 27% said once a day, 27% said two to three times a week, 15% said at least once a week and 19% said they don't check in at all. "In fast-paced advertising and marketing environments, it's natural for professionals to want to keep current on business developments," said Tracey Turner, executive director of The Creative Group. "Yet if they get too carried away, their holidays can turn into extended conference calls, which defeats the purpose of taking time off." The Creative Group is a staffing service that provides marketing, advertising, creative and Web professionals on a project basis.
