DIGITAL ADVERTISING NETWORK DEBUTS NEW SCREEN TECHNOLOGY

Montreal-based Digital Advertising Network has installed new "air-cast" screens at the Square One shopping centre in Mississauga. DAN operates a network of video screens in the food courts of various Canadian shopping centres. The new screens are 1/4 inch thick and offer 180 degree viewing. According to DAN, the new screens also overcome problems caused by sunlight or direct light striking the surface. "Being able to see the projected images from any angle, whether you are standing in line to order food, sitting at a table, or going up an escalator to the second floor, makes DAN that much more effective," said the company's senior vice-president of sales Skip Beloff. Square One is the first of 28 locations which will use the screens. Two Montreal locations, Galaries d'Anjou and Promenades St. Bruno, will open this week with the remaining locations expected to be operating by August.
