ENVIRONICS GOES TO WASHINGTON

Toronto-based Environics Communications has opened an office in Washington, D.C. Headed by senior vice-president and general manager Dave Groobert, the new office will serve clients in Washington and Baltimore. Groobert was most recently a senior managing director in Hill & Knowlton's Washington office, where he led the firm's marketing communications practice. Environics' clients in the area include the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, BITS (an e-commerce banking consortium), Sylvan Learning Centers, the National SAFE KIDS campaign and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Environics opened its first U.S. office in Stamford, CT in 1995. The public relations agency also operates offices in Montreal and Toronto.
