ARM & HAMMER HOLDS NATIONWIDE LAUNDRY CHALLENGE
By Adnews Staff
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda is inviting Canadians to give them grimy laundry. The cross-Canada promotion encourages consumers to send in pictures and an explanation of why their laundry is the grimiest. On September 1 a panel of judges, including equipment managers Robin McDonald from the Canadian Hockey League and Danny Webb from the Toronto Argonauts, will pick the winners. According to Toronto-based Arm & Hammer Canada, doing laundry is often at the top of people's lists of least favourite household chores. "We want to eliminate the fear people have of getting their clothes dirty by letting them know that there is a safe, effective way to boost detergent's cleaning power," said Mike Elliot, director of marketing for Arm & Hammer. Three grand prizes are available: a washer and dryer set, a year's paid maid service and a year's worth of Arm & Hammer cleaning products. Arm & Hammer has formed a sponsorship agreement with Motor Cross for the summer months and will promote its laundry challenge with booths at racing events. Public relations are being handled by Dasko Communications of Toronto.
