ALIANT PROMOTES SAFE CELLULAR

The Aliant Telecom Wireless Companies, consisting of MTT Mobility, NewTel Mobility, Island Tel Mobility and NBTel Mobility, are planning a summer-long awareness campaign targeting Atlantic Canadians during the vacation season. The campaign will encourage drivers to "Practice Safe Cellular." The safe driving message will be delivered in four provinces via radio public service announcements and the distribution of "I practice Safe Cellular" stickers. The stickers will be available at Aliant Telecom Wireless dealers in the Atlantic region and will also be distributed at events and festivals during the summer season. "We are encouraging everyone to put one on their own car, boat or other vehicle, to get the word out that distraction-free is the only way to drive," said Frank Fagan, president of Aliant Telecom Wireless. The "Practice Safe Cellular" campaign was created by SGCI of Sackville, New Brunswick. The Aliant Telecom Wireless Companies are part of Aliant Inc. of St. John's, Newfoundland.
