DAIMLERCHRYSLER STEERS INTERNET BUSINESS TO ONX

DaimlerChrysler Canada of Windsor, ON has entered into a strategic alliance with OnX Inc. of Toronto to enhance the automobile manaufacturers Internet presence. OnX, which provides IT infrastructure and Internet related services, won the assignment following a two-month review. By the fall, DaimlerChrysler's <http://www.daimlerchrysler.ca> Web site will offer visitors resources for pricing and configurations, incentives, new and used vehicle inventories, credit applications, dealer quotes, vehicle servicing and test drive booking. "Current studies indicate that over 60 per cent of Canadian car or truck buyers are researching products using the Internet before they enter a dealership," said Bill Paterson, director of Canadian retail strategies at DaimlerChrysler Canada. According to the company, more than 100,000 Canadians visit the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brand Web sites each month for product and service information.
