By Adnews Staff
Fujifilm Canada of Mississauga is aiming its new QuickSnap Colours collection at teens and young adults with a contest and supporting ad campaign. The new line of translucent blue, green and purple one-time-use cameras arrives in Canada on June 1. According to Fujifilm, the cameras are a response to the popularity of multi-coloured gadgets and gear. Fujifilm has teamed-up with What magazine and musician Chantal Kreviazuk for a contest called "Let Your Colours Shine". Readers are invited to snap photos of their friends doing something fun to win an exclusive interview with Kreviazuk for an upcoming issue of What. The grand prize winner will also receive $500 for their school's yearbook or photography club, $2,500 worth of Fujifilm products for their school and a $1,000 donation in their school's name to Kreviazuk's charity of choice War Child. Secondary prize packs consist of a Fujifilm QuickSnap Colours camera and Kreviazuk's Colour Moving and Still CDs. Additional marketing support will include on-screen advertising in Famous Players cinemas, print advertising in Famous Players' magazine and a sampling program in theatres in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. Advertising for Fujifilm's QuickSnap Colours collection is done by Ammirati Puris. Merchandising and marketing materials were created by Merchandising Matters Inc. Public relations are handled by Apex Public Relations. All of these agencies are based in Toronto.
