CITY OF TORONTO SENDS OUT SAFE DRINKING WATER MESSAGE

The City of Toronto's Works and Emergency Services Department is reassuring residents that the city's drinking water is safe through a new television advertising campaign. The 30-second spot is running on CFTO, CKVR, CBLT and CFMT during programs such as Coronation Street, CBC Morning News, Oprah and Touched by an Angel. The ad depicts a City water lab worker having a tea party with his daughter. A voiceover states "Toronto's water staff know the quality of Toronto's drinking water better than anyone else and they choose Toronto tap water for their families." According to the city, the campaign is part of an ongoing public relations effort to reassure residents about the quality of their drinking water and to publicize the availability of information about the subject. Creative and media were handled by Television Advertising Services Across Canada.
