MSN PROMOTES NEW EXPLORER IN TV CAMPAIGN

Toronto-based MSN.ca is promoting the release of its MSN Explorer Internet browser with a new six-week television ad campaign. The campaign begins running nationally this week during NHL hockey playoff games and during television shows including Who Wants to be a Millionaire, The Simpsons, Law & Order and the X-Files. TV advertising, from MacLaren McCann, is being supported with national newspaper inserts from Publicis Canada. Also, Canadians who download the software can enter an online contest to win a Subaru Legacy GT Sedan. The MSN Explorer browser was released in the U.S. last fall but is only now coming to Canada.
