BEER.COM ROLLS OUT STELLACAM NETWORK

Belgium-based brewing company Interbrew and its beer brand Stella Artois are bringing Web-connected cameras to the bars of ten cities around the world today. The StellaCam network is accessed through the Beer.com Web site. The cameras allow online users to view images of pub interiors in Atlanta, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto, Edinburgh, Budapest, London and Brussels. An e-commerce element allows online users to purchase a Stella Artois beer for a live visitor in the bar. Previously StellaCams were in operation in pubs in Vancouver, New York and Brussels. The extended StellaCam network kicks off tonight at the Indian Motorcycle Cafe and Lounge in Toronto, where Beer.com will attempt to establish a world record for what it describes as the largest online pub crawl in a 24-hour period. Public relations for Beer.com are handled by Mansfield Communications of Toronto.
