NEW AD BANNER FORMATS TAKE SHAPE AT GLOBEANDMAIL.COM

Globe Interactive has adopted new banner ad formats for the Globeandmail.com Web centre. The formats, being pushed as standards by the Internet Advertising Bureau of Canada, include vertical "skyscraper" ads and "pop-up" windows. Globe Interactive, which operates the Globeandmail.com Web centre, began using the new formats earlier this month. IBM Canada is one of the first advertisers to move to the bigger banners, currently running "Skyscraper" ads on the Globetechnology.com site. According to Globe Interactive, additional advertisers that will be moving to the formats include Hewlett-Packard, EPost, Harry Rosen and Tourism PEI.
