CADBURY TOSSES HAWAIIAN PUNCH TO CANADIANS
By Adnews Staff
Cadbury Beverages Canada, Inc. of Toronto is bringing its Hawaiian Punch drink to Canada. The introduction of the fruit drink in the Canadian market is the first expansion of the brand outside the U.S. since Cadbury acquired it in 1999. Hawaiian Punch is a non-carbonated fruit drink that combines pineapple, orange, passion fruit, apple, apricot, papaya and guava juices. It is initially rolling out in grocery, drug, mass merchant and convenience stores in Ontario this week with national roll out planned for next month. Cadbury is supporting the drink in Canada with in-store materials. A radio campaign from MGM Media of Hamilton will break in June accompanied by an online promotion with MuchMusic. Cadbury's Hawaiian Punch has also formed a strategic alliance with West 94, a chain of Canadian clothing stores, for promotions and sponsorship activities. Public relations for the launch are being handled by Brownridge Communications of Mississauga, ON.
