STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES LANDS OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE ACCOUNT

Strategic Objectives has been assigned a number of marketing campaigns for new client Outback Steakhouse Canada. A subsidiary of The Outback Steakhouse U.S.A., the Canadian operation is partially-owned by Cara Operations Ltd. of Mississauga. It was the agency's relationship with Cara on its Harvey's, Swiss Chalet and Second Cup businesses that led to Strategic's win of the steakhouse account. Previously marketing and communications activities were handled in-house. Strategic will initially begin working on the restaurant's Survivor Night parties. Additional plans for the year include special events, billboard advertising and direct mail. Media buying and marketing services support is handled by HYPN of Toronto. The Outback Steakhouse operates 12 locations in Ontario. The menu consists of steak, chicken and ribs, served in an environment inspired by the Australian outback.
