SUBWAY PROMOTES NEW BREADS

Seeking to building positioning as a server of low-fat, healthy sandwiches, Subway Restaurants of Milford, CT, will add two new breads to its menu next month: Country Wheat and Asiago Cheese. The existing breads are Classic Italian, Hearty Italian, Parmesan Oregano, Sourdough and Sesame. The Country Wheat flavour replaces the discontinued Harvest Wheat variety. The Asiago Cheese bread will initially be available as a limited time offering at participating locations from April 9 until May 27. Following that promotion, the Asiago Cheese variety will become a permanent addition at participating locations only. National television advertising including 30-second, 15-second and 23-second spots running in English and French Canada will introduce the new breads. Advertising for Subway is done by Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/EURO RSCG of New York. Local television and radio advertising will accompany the national television advertising.
