ALCAN NAMES ENGEN PRESIDENT AND CEO

Alcan has appointed Travis Engen president and chief executive officer, effective March 12. Engen will replace Bill Blundell, who has acted as interim president and chief executive since the resignation of Jacques Bougie in January. Engen will join Alcan from ITT Industries where he is currently chairman and chief executive. Engen has sat on Alcan's board of directors since 1996.
