By Adnews Staff
Vancouver-based Nintendo of Canada has announced that the launch date for its Game Boy Advance system will be June 11, 2001. The new game console is the third in a line of handheld devices following Nintendo's Game Boy and Game Boy Colour systems. The new Game Boy Advance features a 50% larger screen and allows up to four machines to be linked together. It also connects players to the Internet through a modem accessory. Nintendo is planning to support the launch of Game Boy Advance with advertising and promotional activities but details are not being disclosed at this time. Advertising for Nintendo of Canada is done by Leo Burnett. Public relations are handled by GCI Group, both of Toronto.
