TOURISM COMMISSION PROMOTING CANADA

The Canadian Tourism Commission has broke a new advertising campaign to promote travel in Canada to Canadians. Television ads began running on English and French network and specialty stations Feb. 4 featuring the tagline "Discover our true nature." The campaign is designed to position Canada as a four-season destination and was developed to increase awareness of travel experiences. The first spot is scheduled to run throughout February promoting travel during the spring, summer and fall seasons. Additional four-week flights are scheduled for April and September. A second spot promoting winter travel will launch later this year. Television advertising is overlapping additional marketing activities such as radio and the distribution of the commission's Go. Canadian Travel Magazine newspaper insert. Over 3.5 million copies of the insert will be distributed in major dailies across Canada each season. The spring season launches Feb. 17. The Canadian Tourism Commission is a partnership between the tourism industry and federal, provincial and regional governments. Advertising for the CTC is done by The BCP Group of Montreal.
