JIM DELIVERS IN GROCERY GATEWAY.COM RADIO SPOTS

A new radio campaign for Grocery Gateway.com again makes use of spokesperson Jim, the 1950's-style delivery man that first appeared in the company's print and outdoor advertising creative last year. That campaign had been designed to illustrate the company's style of service by associating home delivery with that of a 50's milkman-type character. The Mississauga, Ontario-based online grocery service's new radio campaign again features Jim, this time in a speaking role. In each 60-second spot, upon delivering a grocery order Jim finds a family doing something that otherwise would have been postponed had they had to go grocery shopping. One spot enacts a mother reading to her kids. Another portrays a husband who finds out from Jim that his wife plans to have him re-grout the bathroom. Each spot concludes with the tagline "You shop online. We deliver. Now this is progress." The campaign is running on major Toronto radio stations. Advertising for Grocery Gateway.com is done by Garneau Wurstlin Philp Brand Engineering. Public relations are handled by Media Profile. Both companies are Toronto-based.
