EDELMAN ACCOUNT ROUNDUP
By Adnews Staff
Edelman Public Relations Canada started the new year with several new account wins for the agency's four practice areas. Toronto-based Solcorp Inc. has turned to Edelman's technology group for worldwide public relations support following a referral to the agency. Solcorp provides consulting services to the life insurance and bancassurance industries. Toronto-based TheFunniest, which provides humor-based entertainment for wireless devices, and Montreal-based Paranim, which creates tools for interactive animation, also retained the services of the agency's technology group based on referrals. Edelman's health practice extended its relationship with Novartis, based in Dorval, Quebec, by picking up a project for the company's breast cancer drug Femara. Edelman currently does corporate work for Novartis and its Alzheimer drug Exelon. The consumer practice has begun working with travel Web site Expedia.ca following a referral from Edelman offices in the U.S. which work with Expedia.com. The agency's corporate and public affairs practice was named agency-of-record for Toronto-based Group Telecom following a competitive pitch and added Toronto-based Symcor as a client after working on an assignment for the company. Symcor provides information delivery and item processing services.
