BUDWEISER LOOKS TO PAST FOR NEW PACKAGING
By Adnews Staff
During the National Football League play-offs this weekend, Global Television viewers got their first look at Budweiser's new look in an ad called "King of Beers". The new packaging is intended to appear more contemporary while communicating Budweiser's 125 years of brewing heritage. The label displays the word "Budweiser" in script writing with gold accents, as well as a logo originally used on the beer's packaging between 1920 and 1950. "We want our packaging to enhance the brand's heritage," said Gino Cantalini, marketing manager for Budweiser at Labatt Breweries of Canada, which brews and markets the brand in this country. "Great care was taken in the design of the new packaging to ensure it reflects to precision of the Budweiser brewing process." Cases of the beer bearing the new packaging will appear in beer stores nationally during January and February. In the U.S. Budweiser is produced by Anheuser Busch.
