PRIME TIME RADIO LOOKS TO APPEAL TO LISTENERS 50+

Today is the official first day of broadcasting of AM740 - Prime Time Radio, a new Toronto station targeting the 50-years-old-plus demographic. Claiming to be the only Greater Toronto Area station catering to older listeners, Prime Time airs 1950's pop music, big bands, easy listening music and spoken word programming. President and general manager Michael Caine notes that there are over 1.4 million people over 50 in the GTA, making up roughly one-quarter of Toronto's population. "If the exceptional number of calls we've received [during recent test broadcasts] is any indication," said Caine, "We think AM750 will become the premiere 50+ station in North America."
