GLOBE & MAIL AND INTRAWEST FORM MARKETING PARTNERSHIP

Toronto-based national newspaper The Globe and Mail and Vancouver-based resort operator Intrawest Corporation began a three-year cross-marketing agreement on Friday. The deal will see the two companies promote their brands and products to each other's customers. Also, as part of the agreement, The Globe and Mail has been named the exclusive national newspaper of Intrawest's Canadian resorts. The newspaper will be provided free to guests in Intrawest's lodging facilities and other resort locations and The Globe and Mail will become an associate partner of the Telus Guest Communications Centre at Intrawest's Whistler/Blackcomb resort in British Columbia. The communications centre currently features services such as electronic news and information feeds and free email access. Additional elements of the agreement include a series of joint promotions and the creation of a regular ski/golf tips feature provided by Intrawest in The Globe and Mail.
