ADVANTEX ONLINE PLANS TAKE OFF

Toronto-based consumer marketing firm Advantex Marketing International, Air Canada and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce are launching online extensions of Air Canada's Aeroplan program and CIBC's Aerogold Visa program. The new online loyalty programs will be operated by Advantex. Aeroplan members and Aerogold cardholders will now be able to earn Aeroplan miles for a variety of online activities including Web site clickthroughs, page views and online shopping with participating e-retailers. CIBC will also work with Advantex to develop online and off-line programs for other CIBC Visa credit cards in addition to the CIBC Aerogold. Promotion of the new programs will take place through Advantex's, Air Canada's and CIBC's communications channels. Advantex will also manage participating merchants and advertisers, proces bonus awards and create marketing materials. As part of the arrangements both Air Canada and CIBC will acquire equity positions in Advantex. Start dates for both Air Canada's and CIBC's new programs are expected to be announced shortly.
