TORONTO STAR PROMOTES REDESIGNED WEB SITE

The Toronto Star is promoting its redesigned Web site <http://www.thestar.com> with a new campaign using the tagline "Thestar.com and more." The Toronto daily unveiled its new online look on November 7. The site employs a publishing system from Open Market Inc. of Burlington, MA which allows content to be delivered to viewers at a faster rate. The system will also allow Thestar.com to deliver personalized content to users with handheld devices in the future. A two-page full-color ad ran in the daily earlier this week and is scheduled to appear again in today's issue promoting the new look. Additional elements of the campaign include outdoor advertising through Mediacom using posters and transit shelters and print ads in the Guelph Mercury, the Hamilton Spectator, the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, the Cambridge Reporter and GTA Today. Advertising was done in-house by The Toronto Star.
