VIDEO GAME SPOT HAS FRANTIC PACE
By Adnews Staff
Forty-eight cuts flash by in 30-second commercial which started airing this week for Panasonic's REAL 3D0 32-bit Interactive Multiplayer system. Editing was done by Diva Post, the new in-house production studio at DDB Needham Advertising in Toronto. DDB is the agency that created the hyperactive spot, which has an "evolution" theme. It will run on the CTV video game show Game Nation for eight weeks. It is also airing on the YTV specialty channel where Panasonic is running a promotion on a program called The Zone. Tying in with the product slogan "Welcome to the REAL world", the promotion poses the question "Where in the REAL world is VJ Phil?" Viewers are asked to call a 1-800 number to identify one of three software titles for 3D0. Winners receive an FZ-10 REAL 3DO player and the three featured pieces of software. 3DO is a 32-bit video game system that can also be used for showing photographs, playing music and running movies, all from compact disc. Panasonic is a brand belonging to the Japanese company Matsushita.
