TELETOON'S TEEN PROGRAMMING GOES WILD WITH CHERRY PEPSI
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based animation channel Teletoon is teaming up with Pepsi-Cola Canada Inc. for the first time for a contest intended to bring together the station's teen programming and Pepsi's new Wild Cherry cola. The four-week promotion begins November 2. Each night the Wild Cherry Meter will appear on-screen between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., ostensibly to take the "wild temperature" of Teletoon's Unreal programs. When the meter climbs to the top and reads "Wild," viewers who write down the time and date and mail email this information to Teletoon will be entered into a random draw. Twenty-five contestants will win grand prizes of personal scooters. Secondary prizes of Wild Cherry Pepsi merchandise will also be awarded. A 30-second spot promoting the contest, created in-house, is scheduled to run at least once during Teletoon's 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. programming block. A micro site at <http://www.teletoon.com> will also be created to support the contest and allow viewers to submit entries.
