WASSERMAN EXPANDS AGENCY, LAUNCHES INTERACTIVE DIVISION

Vancouver-based advertising agency Wasserman & Partners has formally launched its new interactive division called Wasserman Interactive. The division will offer clients new media technologies including Internet sites, kiosk presentations and CD-ROMS. The agency is positioning the new division as part of an expansion and not as an addition, Christie Judson, spokesperson for Wasserman explained. According to Judson, the agency decided to create its interactive division from within and not by acquiring an outside Internet group so it could maintain consistent branding personalities for its clients. As a result, Wasserman Interactive employees will attend weekly seminars to continually learn about integrating new media with traditional advertising. The division is headed up by George Pytlik, who joined the agency in April of this year to soft launch Wasserman Interactive. Prior to joining Wasserman, Pytlik operated his own advertising/marketing company in the Vancouver area specializing in interactive marketing. To build on the positioning of integrating traditional advertising with digital technologies, Wasserman introduced its new division to client and suppliers at an event held at the Vancouver Art Gallery's exhibit entitled "Between Two Worlds." Guests attended a tour of the art exhibit and participated in an interactive kiosk presentation introducing the new division.
