YAHOO! CANADA HITS THE MALL

Toronto-based Yahoo! Canada opened its one-stop shopping service on Wednesday with over 25 merchants selling more than two million products. La Senza, The Body Shop, Indigo and The Brick are just a few of the 26 merchants that have joined the Yahoo! Canada Shopping service, which offers Canadians the convenience of making purchases in local currency from one single Web location. Orders are made using a universal shopping cart and paid for using a one-stop checkout procedure that features several shipping and delivery options. Customers can shop, browse or order items by product category, by product or by merchant. Promotion for the service will include national radio advertising supported with outdoor advertising in major markets. Creative was developed by Black Rocket of San Francisco and adapted for the Canadian market by Yahoo! Canada. Media was handled by Initiative Media of Toronto. Public relations activities from Environics Communications of Toronto will also promote the new service as well as off-line efforts by merchants including in-store POP.
