HALIFAX PARTNERSHIP FOCUSES ON BRAIN DRAIN PERCEPTION

A new advertising campaign from the Greater Halifax Partnership is tackling that city's own version of the "Brain Drain" challenge. Advertising is aiming to change the notion that young people must move to larger cities like Toronto and Calgary to find work once they've finished school. The campaign is called "Halifax Where It's At" and features television, print and radio ads launching over the course of the next two weeks. Outdoor advertising, including billboards and transit shelters, will follow early next year. The campaign's creative is designed to make young people aware of the career opportunities available in Halifax, said Colin Latham, chairman of the Partnership. The Greater Halifax Partnership is an organization comprised of investors, from both the business and public sectors that work to support economic growth in the city. The campaign was created by Creative Atlantic of Halifax. Public relations is being handled by Shandwick Canada also of Halifax.
