NEW ONTARIO LOTTERY

The Ontario Lottery Corporation started selling a new scratch and win game to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The new tickets cost $10 each, and offer three different play areas. Fifty qualifiers will participate in a televised draw on Sept. 2 in Toronto for a chance to win cash prizes of up to $500,000. "Magic Touch" is the name of the promotional campaign which began on June 12. The advertising, done by Weaver, Tanner and Miller of Kitchener, uses four different TV spots as well as radio and magazines ads focusing on the beneficiaries of the proceeds of Ontario lotteries. "People want to know where the money goes," OLC media spokesperson Melanie Kurzuk told Adnews. The OLC has been conducting an ad agency review in recent months and expects to announce the names of the three successful bidders in a matter of weeks. The corporation currently spends about $23 million a year on advertising.
