EXPRESSVU STILL LOOKING
By Adnews Staff
Expressvu Inc. of Mississauga, Ont. has extended its agency search until September, according to a company release. The company has chosen Twaits & Company Marketing & Communications, and Communitech Inc., both of Toronto, to handle the launch of the digital direct-to-home satellite television service, but it is still looking for an agency for the ongoing advertising. Toronto-based Environics Communications of Toronto handles public relations. Expressvu is a consortium of companies that will start offering TV service via a pizza-sized satellite dish in September. Tee-Comm Electronics of Milton, Ont. owns one-third of the company. The other two-thirds are owned equally by BCE Inc. of Toronto and WIC Western International Communications of Vancouver. Customers will have to pay an initial fee of $1000 to get the service. They will receive the major Canadian networks and independent television stations, Canadian pay-TV and specialty services, a package of 22 Canadian pay-per-view channels, the major U.S. networks and U.S. specialty services and superstations that are legally available in Canada.
