JOHN DEERE UPDATES LOGO
By Adnews Staff
Equipment manufacturer John Deere, based in Moline, Illinois, has updated its leaping deer logo. The revision, the first change to the emblem in 32 years, has the deer leaping upward. Previously the deer had been depicted as landing. The updated trademark is the eighth company symbol since John Deere was founded in 1837. The company's slogan, "Nothing runs like a Deere," and the company colors green and yellow, which are the colors most dominant in its equipment line, remain unchanged. John Deere will gradually introduce the modified logo over the course of the next two years through a rolling launch. As new products and models are produced, the updated logo will be added. Additional branding efforts include more emphasis on the name and a more focused effort of managing the corporate identity. John Deere produces agricultural equipment and manufacturers construction, forestry, commercial and consumer equipment. San Francisco, California-based branding consultants Landor Associates worked with John Deere in tweaking the logo.
