HOME DEPOT OLYMPIC SPOT FEATURES ATHLETIC EMPLOYEES

Atlanta-based home improvement retailer Home Depot has launched a new spot promoting its sponsorship of both the 2000 Canadian and United States Olympic teams. The 30-second spot was created by The Richards Group of Dallas, Texas and features eight Home Depot Canadian and American employees who are vying for a chance to compete in the 2000 Olympic Games. Home Depot is a member of both the Career Opportunity Program in Canada and the U.S. Olympic Committee's Olympic Job Opportunities Program. Both programs are designed to support athletes. The new spot focuses on the last day of work for those employees who are vying to compete in the Olympic Games. Through good byes and celebrations, the spot highlights the bonds that have developed through the athletes and other Home Depot employees. In Canada, the spot is scheduled to run nationally on network and cable television in English Canada through September 15.
