NEW LEVIS BRAND SLATED FOR NEXT YEAR

U.S.-based Levi Strauss & Co. is putting a new line of casual dress pants on the U.S. market next summer. Called Slates, the pants are for men aged 30 to 40-. Eventually, the line will include other items such as jackets. A U.S. campaign for Slates is planned for next fall. It will be created by Foote, Cone & Belding's San Francisco office. In Canada Levi has not decided if it will bring the new line across the border, marketing director Wayne Alguire told Adnews last week. The Canadian division will watch how the brand does in the U.S. for a couple of seasons.
