MAXXCOM HAS TARGET IN MIND

The communications and marketing services division of Toronto-based MDC Corporation, Maxxcom Inc., has focused on a new target. The division acquired a majority interest in TargetCom, a Chicago-based relationship marketing agency. Maxxcom also acquired interest in TargetCom's two business units, bang!zoom and etelligence. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Bang!zoom is a technology and dot-com focused agency based in London. etelligence, based in St. Louis, is focused on relationship marketing via the Internet. The three agencies have 60 employees and count Bally Total Fitness, Harley-Davidson, Lucent, Pier One and Sears among its clients.
