LANYON PHILLIPS/AXMITH MCINTYRE JOIN TELUS ROSTER

Telus Advanced Communications of Burnaby, BC has appointed Vancouver-based Lanyon Phillips Communications general advertising agency-of-record for its business and consumer portfolios. Toronto-based Axmith McIntyre Wicht Ltd. has been hired to handle the direct response advertising component. The account was previously divided between Ogilvy & Mather and Palmer Jarvis DDB, both of Vancouver. Media planning and buying, which is handled by Palmer Jarvis DDB and OMD Canada, were not included in the review. The consumer portfolio of Telus Advanced Communications includes telus.net high speed and dial-up Internet access, multimedia services and the Telus portal network. The business portfolio includes a suite of data and Internet solutions. Lanyon Phillips will be responsible for strategy, planning, creative development and production for mass media advertising. Axmith McIntyre Wicht will handle all direct response campaigns.
