BMO BANKS ON VEEV CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Bank of Montreal is promoting its Veev wireless banking, investment and lifestyle service with a new advertising campaign in the Ontario and Quebec markets. BMO launched this wireless financial services package in May 1999 in conjunction with Toronto-based software company 724 Solutions. Available in both English and French through Bell Mobility in the Ontario and Quebec markets and through Telus in the Alberta and British Columbia markets, Veev offers users mobile access to services such as account balances, transaction details, stock trades, fund transfers, book purchases through Indigo.ca, weather, horoscopes and news from Canadian Press and Reuters. Print ads running in Ontario and Quebec newspapers and radio spots running on Ontario stations are being used to promote the Veev service. BMO is also promoting Veev in its branches. Employees at 300 Ontario branches have been provided with mobile phones to demonstrate the wireless service to customers. BMO's goal is to add new carriers and eventually launch the Veev service nationally. The campaign may be extended to include outdoor advertising later this summer, but details have not been confirmed. Advertising for Bank of Montreal is handled by Vickers & Benson Advertising of Toronto.
