Chapters Online has promoted David Hainline to the position of chief operating officer. Hainline, who previously served as executive vice president of marketing and merchandising, replaces Rick Segal, who served as president and chief operating officer. Segal will be leaving the company in pursuit of a new opportunity. Chapters Online will shortly begin a search for a chief technical officer. Segal will remain with the company for a transition period of at least 30 days, after which the position of president will be abolished.
