WANG SPLITS WITH AGENCY
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Wang Canada has split with pgh Marketing Consulting Group, the agency it hired in May of last year to do advertising and public relations. Last week Wang hired The Communications Group to handle public relations. The Toronto PR firm was already working in Canada for Bull HN Information Systems which Wang's U.S. parent bought last January. Wang marketing assistant Ann Martin told Adnews yesterday that the company would not be advertising for the next two months and would make a decision in the new year whether to hire a new agency. Pgh Marketing is run by Peter Hebb who was in charge of the Wang account at Marshall Fenn Toronto when he left to form his own agency. When asked what had happened, Hebb did not give a specific reply but he did point out that Wang Canada had a change in management on Sept. 1 this year when Bob Lerner took over as president. Wang sells software for computer networks and also services them. Its software, which allows computers to store data combined with graphic images, can be used by a variety of computers with different operating systems.
