GREAT PACIFIC BUYS MORE GROCERIES

Vancouver-based Great Pacific Industries has expanded its grocery business with the purchase of G&H Marketing of Langley, B.C. For the time being the two companies will run independently, Great Pacific spokesperson Nick Desmarais told Adnews last week. G&H operates under two banners: G&H Shop & Save and Giant Foods. It also has several independent stores. The company handles its advertising in-house. Palmer Jarvis Advertising of Vancouver is the agency for Great Pacific's grocery chains: Overwaitea and Save-On Foods. In early October Great Pacific bought food retailer and wholesaler Buy-Low Foods of Surrey, B.C., which also handles advertising in-house. Great Pacific belongs to the Vancouver-based Jim Pattison Group.
