OBIE MEDIA ANNOUNCES ART WINNERS

Vancouver-based Obie Media has announced the winners of its first "It's an Art" transit advertising awards. The awards recognize the best advertisements that have appeared on B.C.'s transit system in the past year. "It's an Art" is divided into two categories: best traditional product and best signature product. Two winners in each category are picked, one for accounts represented by an agency and the second for accounts not represented by an agency. Ads are judged on criteria including large illustrations, bold colors, simple backgrounds and clear product identification. The winner for the "best traditional product, agency" category was Taxi Advertising of Montreal for its "See Their Eyes Light Up Give Them a Clearnet" ad for client Clearnet. The non-agency winner in the best traditional product category was All Fun Recreation Park in Victoria, B.C. for its "Victoria's Best Place For Family Fun" ad. The agency winner in the best signature product category was Catalyst Advertising for its "Better Insurance Less Money" ad for client Canadian Direct Insurance. The non-agency winner was Boston Pizza of Chilliwack, B.C. for its "Pasta Tuesdays" ad. The winning ads were chosen from over 100 entries received.
