TELUS AND CHAPTERS CROSS T'S, DOT I'S IN NEW MARKETING AGREEMENT

Telecommunications company Telus, based in Burnaby, B.C., and Toronto-based Chapters Online, operators of the Chapters.ca Web site, have formed a new marketing agreement. The agreement, negotiated by 24/7 Media (Canada) Inc., is an extension of a pre-existing relationship between the two companies. Under the terms of the one-year deal, Chapters.ca is designated the recommended bookseller of the MyBC.com and Alberta.com sites, and reserves the designation for additional regional content portals Telus plans to launch shortly. Chapters.ca also gets advertising placement on all existing and new Telus Web sites. Promotion of the arrangement will be done through joint marketing initiatives, a direct email campaign by Chapters to Telus' users and joint promotions. PR for Chapters Online is handled by High Road Communications of Toronto.
