NO STRINGS ATTACHED IN HMV PROMOTION

Toronto-based HMV North America is launching a new promotion in anticipation of demand for the new NSYNC album "No Strings Attached", scheduled to be released in-stores March 21. From now until March 20, the retailer is offering fans the option to pre-purchase the CD and receive an exclusive HMV NSYNC collectable card set featuring six collectable cards in a plastic case. The pre-purchase promotion is running across Canada at all 97 HMV stores as well as online at HMV.com. In-stores, fans who pre-purchase the CD receive a CD voucher and their collectable card set. The CD voucher is to be exchanged for the new CD between March 21 and March 25 at the same HMV location the pre-purchase was made. Online, fans who make the pre-purchase will have both their collectable card set and CD shipped to them beginning March 21. HMV is promoting the pre-purchase plan with television advertising on Much Music/Musique Plus, in-store with point-of-purchase materials and online. Advertising was created in-house. Media was handled by NextMedia of Toronto. Advertising is being supported with public relations activities from HMV's PR agency-of-record, Toronto-based Strategic Objectives.
