OMNICOM ACQUIRES TUDHOPE ASSOCIATES

New York-based Omnicom's Interbrand Group has acquired Toronto-based Tudhope Associates. Interbrand will unite its global branding with Tudhope's strategic design and branding expertise to create an unrivaled brand consultancy in Canada. Beginning March 1, Tudhope will be called Interbrand Tudhope. Bev Tudhope, principal, Tudhope Associates, said the company recognized it needed a global partner to secure its leadership position in the Canadian market. "Access to the Interbrand global network will enhance our ability to create unparalleled brand value for domestic and international clients," she said. Interbrand Tudhope will continue to provide clients with corporate, consumer, interactive and environmental brand programs as well as enhanced services including brand valuation, name development and e-business solutions. No client conflicts are reported as a result of the acquisition. Bev and Ian Tudhope, founders of the company, will assume the roles of co-CEO's of the new company. The acquisition gives Interbrand a presence in the Canadian market. It currently operates in 17 countries around the world. Financial details were not disclosed.
